Whether you live in a hot environment, love drag racing, or have long high-speed pulls on airstrips, the AMS Performance Nissan Z Heat Exchanger will assist in keeping your intake temps low and your Z’s maximum power output no matter what the conditions are. Your 3.0L twin-turbocharged engine does not employ the standard air-to-air front mount intercooler (FMIC). Like many current turbocharged vehicles, the Nissan Z uses coolant to cool the intake air charge via an air-to-water heat exchanger. While this strategy may be adequate for a stock vehicle under ideal conditions, it quickly becomes heat-saturated, reducing horsepower.
