We meticulously selected a motorsports-grade carbon fiber material, hand-laid and highly resistant to high temperatures. In contrast to other options on the market, which often use glossy clear-coated carbon fiber susceptible to discoloration and cracking, AMS Carbon intake stands out. Additionally, our design eliminates the engine bay vents found on the factory intake. These vents serve to draw in warm engine bay air for startup and fuel consumption requirements but come at the cost of performance. By removing these warm air vents and optimizing the front grille, our intake ensures that 100% of the airflow is cold air sourced directly from the front grille.

The use of carbon fiber enabled us to create a consistently tapered tube with generous bend radii, smoothly transitioning the 3.5″ outlet filter to a 3″ inlet size without any restriction. This design seamlessly integrates with your factory turbo elbow through the provided 3″ to 2.75″ silicone coupler. This thoughtful design allows for easy future upgrades, whether it’s to a larger turbo elbow or the AMS Performance Turbo Upgrade Kit, all with just a simple 3″ coupler swap. At AMS, we design our components with our customers’ ultimate goals in mind. This intake, in conjunction with the AMS Intercooler and AMS downpipe, forms a complete system that seamlessly integrates with the AMS Turbo kit, eliminating the need for redundant purchases.
NOTES
- For vehicles equipped with Secondary Air Injection, a third-party SAI filter kit is required for installation.
- As these motorsports grade carbon fiber parts are hand-laid, slight imperfections or weave pattern variances can be expected.
- The filters use specially designed media that allows performance and efficiency to be restored to near new each time by simply using compressed air (30-40 psi) from the inside out, making frequent washing unnecessary in order to restore filter performance. For deep cleaning from extreme environments, a biodegradable cleaner such as Simple Green or other mild shop degreasers can be used. Simply place the filter in a solution or spray the cleaner on the filter. Allow the solution to loosen the particulate and then rinse thoroughly. Shake the filter or use compressed air from the inside outward to remove residual water and allow a full day or two to dry.
