Description
The Girodisc system offers a seamless OE disc replacement without any modifications required. It directly bolts onto the car and works perfectly with OE calipers, maintaining factory bias and ABS efficiency. The lightweight, high-performance design enhances acceleration and suspension response by reducing rotational and unsprung weight. The central hat section of our rotor is crafted from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. Our disc is made of proprietary cast iron, poured, and machined in-house at Girodisc. With a curved vane design inspired by racing, the rotor acts as a centrifugal pump, forcing cooling air through the disc. The rotor and hat feature a floating mount system, utilizing 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by Girodisc in the USA. These pins, cadmium plated for corrosion resistance, bear the load from braking actions while allowing axial and radial float between the hat and disc. Secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers, anti-noise spring washers are mounted on the rotor side to eliminate cold-related noise and ensure proper expansion with heat. This floating design also enables the rotor to self-center between the pads.
