Description
Our Cobra Cold Air Intake System would be the intake system we suggest for the 1.5L Turbo Civic Platform. Our Short Ram Intake System is an alternative for customers who do not want to use a CAI. For the best drivability and performance, our CNC-machined billet aluminum MAF Housing was created to deliver *factory-spec fuel trims (-4% of factory STFT & LTFT). Both the Street housing and the Race housing, which both use the factory MAF sensor but have two different diameters and profiles, are available for this SRI, which uses a 4″ air filter. The Street housing is intended to deliver factory-spec fuel trims WITHOUT ANY tweaking, as was already mentioned. A tune IS necessary because the Race housing admits a 50% greater air volume than the Street housing. The MAF housing is fed with ambient temperature air thanks to the increased airflow volume, which also lowers pumping loss and produces an open-air path.
NOTES
- Short ram intakes are extremely sensitive to heat-soak with this chassis (which is why we recommend our CAI). Performance gains will lessen as the engine and intake begin to heat-soak.
