An oil catch can is an indispensable component designed to safeguard your engine against the detrimental effects of increased crankcase blow-by, which often accumulates during spirited driving. The presence of excess oil-laden air recirculating back into the air intake system can result in a noticeable decline in performance. Radium Engineering’s line of catch cans boasts several key features, including generously sized 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, a two-stage oil separation baffling system, and a dipstick securely sealed with an O-ring.
Platform Specifics:
Our catch cans are strategically positioned to accommodate both Right Hand Drive (RHD) and Left Hand Drive (LHD) configurations. Note that some brake line adjustments may be required for RHD installations. Additionally, these kits are fully compatible with all leading aftermarket forced induction setups. For installation, we utilize existing factory mounts and vehicle holes, ensuring a hassle-free process without any cutting, drilling, or permanent vehicle modifications.
Dual Independent Kits:
We offer two distinct oil catch can kits, each functioning independently and available for individual purchase or as a complete set. It’s important to highlight that these kits do NOT vent to the atmosphere (VTA), making them fully compliant with emissions and track regulations. These closed-loop systems redirect clean, filtered air back into the engine for combustion, promoting negative crankcase pressure to optimize performance. Moreover, they effectively prevent unwanted oil vapors from infiltrating the cabin environment.
20-0902-FL CCV Kit:
The 20-0902-FL CCV kit is specifically designed to be mounted on the LH side of the engine bay. This catch can operate in line with the 1/2″ breather port. During low-load conditions, it operates at atmospheric pressure. However, under high-load scenarios, such as Wide Open Throttle (WOT), this hose encounters vacuum conditions. Normally, this would draw unwanted crankcase vapors, unburned fuel, and oil sludge into the air filter intake pipe. If your engine is equipped with a turbocharger or supercharger and you’re noticing oil accumulation within the intercooler, this catch can become a crucial addition, as it prevents oil from compromising heat exchange efficiency.
