Description
The FX300 System is a clutch system designed for high-performance street vehicles. It consists of the Power Plus I Heavy-Duty Pressure Plate and a segmented Kevlar disc with a steel backing. This clutch is specifically engineered for enthusiasts who have extensively modified their normally aspirated cars with upgrades such as cylinder head work (e.g., cams), medium-boost turbo or supercharger setups, or even up to a 100hp nitrous oxide (NO2) system. The FX300 clutch has a proven track record as one of the most successful single-disc clutch options available. Its design incorporates Kevlar friction material in a segmented format. This configuration allows for a higher pressure per square inch, increasing torque capacity while maintaining exceptional longevity. The Kevlar material used in the clutch is non-abrasive, ensuring that it doesn’t score or damage the mating surfaces of the clutch components.
One of the notable characteristics of the FX300 clutch is that it requires only slightly increased pedal pressure compared to the stock clutch. This means that the clutch operation remains comfortable and manageable for daily street driving. Additionally, the FX300 offers a long service life and positive engagement, ensuring reliable performance over time. It’s important to note that the FX300 clutch is primarily recommended for street use and is not intended for track or racing applications. If you plan to use your vehicle extensively on the track, other clutch options may be more suitable for your needs.
When installing the FX300 clutch, a break-in period of a minimum of 500 miles is required. This break-in period allows the clutch components to properly settle and ensures optimal performance and longevity. Overall, the FX300 System is a popular choice for street enthusiasts who have heavily modified their cars and require a high-performance clutch that offers increased torque capacity, long life, and positive engagement while maintaining reasonable pedal pressure.
